About Gray René

Artist, Student and Graphic Designer | she/they | Portland, OR

Hello and greetings!

My name is Gray, and I am an illustrator, painter and printmaker who works primarily with ink, watercolor and various printmaking methods. My work most often features vibrant stylized animals, mythical creatures, and portraits with themes of queer identity, empowerment, mysticality, tenderness, healing and grief. I hope to use art as a means of inspiring collective liberation, social justice and hope amidst ongoing struggles perpetuated by the oppressive and colonial systems that harm our communities. To me, my art serves as a symbol of change, understanding and gratitude towards the life I have both been given, and have led.

As a graphic designer, I strive to integrate hand drawn illustrations and patterns into my design work in order to achieve a better connection with audiences. Through using hand created elements, graphic design can gain a sense of genuineness and sincerity, and humanize a product, project or event.

I am excited to share my work with you. If you would like to come see my work in person, please visit the Markets & Events page! There you will find all of the markets and events I will be a part of as a vendor around Portland.
